Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

Know your farmer

CSAs link consumers directly to the farm and farmers (Alberta & Corey Telfer), so you know exactly where your food is coming from and how it is grown. Our CSA runs for 10+ weeks, from late June to mid-September.

How does it work?

Members receive a box of delicious produce straight out of our fields each week and are invited to the farm to help with planting, harvesting and to connect with others who appreciate fresh local food! A full share ($500) is intended for four + people, while a half share ($300) receives half the food and/or less variety. We deliver these boxes to pickup locations in Cochrane, NW Calgary and downtown. Our clients make small-scale local farming an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable option. Thank You!

What do we grow?

We grow a wide variety of vegetables and focus on those that do best in our climate in our soil and heirloom varieties that you won't necessarily find in your local grocery store. All boxes receive at least 4-5 different items each week, and this increases as the bounty. We partner with our friends at Hive and Harvest who provide tomatoes, peppers and pollination services for our farm.

Risks

By joining, members understand that they are sharing in the risks every farmer faces and that quantity, quality and duration of season may vary due to unpredictable weather and pests. We communicate with members regularly so they are aware of any challenges.

Picking Up Shares

Pickup locations and times are circulated in May and are determined based on member feedback (typically on Sunday or Monday evenings in Cochrane and near Market Mall). Members are responsible for picking up their share each week and washing vegetables before eating. If you cannot pick up your subscription and advise us in advance, we can double the amount of produce in your next pickup, or donate your weekly box. You can also send a friend to pick up your share.
